SEDER & CHANDLER ATTORNEYS WIN $2.5 MILLION VERDICT IN TORT CASE

Mel Greenberg, Howard Stempler, and Kurt Binder recently prevailed in a one-week jury trial in Worcester Superior Court in which the jury returned a verdict for $2,500,000.00. With the addition of interest, the award was in excess of $3.6 million. The case involved a claim by our client for intentional infliction of emotional distress resulting from a murder for hire plot in which the Defendant hired a hit man to attempt to murder his wife and to set fire to our client's residence while she and her husband were at home. As a result of the Defendant's actions, our client suffered severe emotional distress and was ultimately diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. The jury returned a verdict after deliberating for approximately 4 hours.
