Marvin S. Silver practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, business law and business planning, and tax law. In the estate planning and administration part of his practice, Marvin helps clients by creating appropriate estate planning documents such as Wills, Trusts, Health Care Proxies, Durable Powers of Attorney, and Living Will Equivalents, in order to distribute their property and appoint fiduciaries to oversee estate and trust administration. The estate plans range from simple Wills to complex tax-minimization trusts and other devices.

In the business part of his practice, Marvin helps clients create appropriate business entities such as corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships, and assists these businesses with general business advice. Such assistance includes the preparation of contracts, agreements and other documents, and counsel regarding the purchase or sale of businesses and succession planning issues.

Marvin is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Syracuse University School of Management and received both his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) degree from the Boston University School of Law. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and is licensed to practice before the United States Tax Court.

Marvin is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Trusts and Estates , and was selected for inclusion in New England Super Lawyers 2008 Magazine in the areas of Estate Planning and Probate. He is also a past co-Chairman of the Worcester County Bar Association Tax, Trusts and Estates Section. Marvin is a current member of the Tax Law, Business Law and Probate Law Sections of the Massachusetts Bar Association, as well as a member of the Worcester County Bar Association Tax, Trusts and Estates Section. He previously served as Chairman of the Estate Planning Committee of the Massachusetts Bar Association Tax Section, and as a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Tax Section Council. He is a past-President of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Worcester County, an organization of which he is currently a member.

Marvin has prepared numerous articles, which have been published by the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Worcester County Bar Association, and has presented many programs on estate planning, business planning and tax related subjects. He is a past member and past chairman of the Town of Shrewsbury Finance Committee, and a past President and Treasurer of Westborough Education Foundation, Inc.
